Sandra Meech
Sandra trained as an artist and graphic designer in Canada,
working as an illustrator for magazines. Now working in mixed media and
stitched textiles, photography inspires work on a variety of themes that
include the Arctic - ice, glaciers - the effects of global warming and
endangered forests.
Recently moving to the West Country, new work has explored the 'levels'
and other Somerset and Dorset locations with new compositions
in paper, fabric and stitch.
Sandra is a published author of creative books on art textiles,
teaching and exhibiting in the UK and internationally.

For the Open Studio weeks, Sandra will be featuring collage and
stitch compositions inspired by the winter floods on the levels and inspiration beyond.
Work includes photo imagery, marks, painted cloth, - collage compositions
in paper fabric and stitch.

Vera Sheaf

Originally trained as a painter with a degree in Fine Art from Reading University,
Vera has explored printmaking techniques in recent years.
She finds these two ways of working complementary.
A studio based artist, her inspiration comes mainly from landscape.
Many quick drawings are made on the spot which become
transformed by time, memory and process.
During the art weeks Vera will be showing new paintings, prints and collages
celebrating colour, composition and mark making.
Imagery inspired by surprising spaces in the artists environment.
More of Vera's work can be seen at
We will both be present during this open studio event
and there will be daily demonstrations.
Cards, books and work will be on sale.
